BusSing
A Live Activity keeps the bus you are waiting for on your Lock Screen. On an iPhone with Dynamic Island, you can also follow it while another app is open.
Start with a stop or service
BusSing documents two ways to start tracking. Check the stop code and direction first, especially when the opposite stop has a similar name.
- Open a bus stop in BusSing, open its info control and start tracking the stop.
- To follow an individual service, swipe left on that service in the arrival list and tap Track.
- Lock your iPhone to check the Live Activity. On supported hardware, also check Dynamic Island.
Check the phone and connection
BusSing requires iOS 18 or later. Dynamic Island is a hardware feature, so installing a newer iOS version does not add it to an older iPhone.
Live arrivals need a connection. If an activity is missing, check the Live Activities controls for BusSing in Settings, then start it again in the app. Check Express access in the app if a purchase screen appears.

Add it to a Shortcut
BusSing supports starting a Live Activity through Apple Shortcuts. In Shortcuts, look for BusSing actions when creating a shortcut, then configure the action using the fields it offers.
Run the shortcut yourself before adding it to an automation. Choose the stop you actually use for that direction. No need to send your morning commute down the wrong road.
A visible estimate is still an estimate
A countdown can change as new arrival data comes in. Leave time to walk to the stop and cross the road. If the displayed time looks stale, compare it with the current arrival list in BusSing.
